Introducing...

I'd like to introduce you to the reason I won't be getting much writing done over the next few weeks/months/who knows.

This is my newest and most lovely reason to procrastinate. His name is Digory and he was born at home just over a week ago, weighing 6lbs and 13oz. Paul and I fear he's looking like a future guitarist already.

I am still reading all your blogs etc., forgive me if I don't get much commenting done for a while!

  1. OMG! So cute! Love the hand pose. Congrats! Look at that hair!

I hope he's a quiet one and gives you a little time to write? : ) Hope all went smoothly?

    1. We love his hair! It's awesome and hedgehoggy. He's pretty placid but it still seems to be a 24 hour job looking after him. People did warn us of that, but we didn't realise how true it is. Might not be writing for a while, but I'm sure I'll get back into it eventually!

  2. Congratulations, Chloe and Paul! Yes, he's clearly a rock star of the future and has an impressive grasp of spelling for such a youngster, too.

The best of luck to you all on this new adventure.

    1. Thanks Dan. I'm hoping sleep deprivation proves to be a good muse...

  3. Congratulations. He's adorable. There is something fun about every age, but being a stay at home mom, being able to hold that sweet thing as much as you want.. that is awesome.

By the way. One thing I found with a newborn, with your first at least, it's not too hard to sit at the computer. At least when they're tiny. Cause they're so small, and they (usually) sleep a lot, they fit just perfectly on your lap and don't move much. I also got a lot of reading done while feeding. I was breast feeding, so that made it easier. I'm not sure that'd work so well if you have a bottle to hold though.

    1. Thank-you. It might take me a while to get to thinking about writing, but I'm hoping to do so at some point. I'm also breastfeeding so hopefully that will fit in nicely!

  5. Congratulations to you both. He's a handsome lad already. Three questions for you Chloe.
What is his birth date - I have something in mind?
What is your favourite cartoon character?
Also, where does the name Digory originate from?
Enjoy him at that size, it doesn't last long. LOL

    1. He was born on 16th March. There doesn't seem to be a definitive answer as to where Digory comes from or what it means - we just liked it. But we chose to spell it with one g instead of two because that's how CS Lewis spells it in the Narnia Chronicles.

I don't know that I have a favourite cartoon character. I have fond memories of all the classic Disney movies but never really watched cartoons.

  6. How lovely. Congratulations to you and Paul. And it's great to see that Digory is already a man of letters!
